The Interstate 4 spans approximately 133 miles and its entire stretch also doubles as the State Road 400. The I4 runs east-west with several exit points. In fact, it travels north-south as much as it travels east-west maintaining a diagonal northeast-southwest route connecting Tampa on the east to Daytona Beach on the west. The most important metropolitan areas that it connects are those of Tampa-St. Petersburg, Lakeland-Winter Haven, Orlando and Daytona Beach.
The cities in between from east to west and their main attractions are:
Lakeland: Polk Theatre, Lake Parker, Explorations V Children’s Museum, Circle B bar Reserve, The Lakeland Center, Polk Museum of Art, Joker Merchant Stadium, Fantasy of Flight, Lake Morton, Hollis Gardens, Munn Park Historic District, Florida Air Museum, Lake Hollingsworth, Florida Southern College Frank Lloyd Wright Visitors Center & Common Ground Park.
Plant City: Historic District of Plant City, Dinosaur World, Metals & Nature, Alderman’s Ford Regional Park, Alafia River State Park & Edward Medard Park & reservoir.
Davenport: Most travelers pass through this city on or to their way from Disneyland in Orlando. The small town with its quiet and relaxed ambience has adequate affordable accommodations. It has assumed a lot of importance being the launching pad to the Walt Disney World, Universal Studios & Animal Kingdom. Though small, the town has interesting spots that you can surely visit during your stopover here. You can consider going to the Northeast Regional Park, Highland Reserve Golf Club, Champions Gate Golf Resort, Fossil Funatics, Posner Park Shopping Mall, Cinepolis, Webbs Candy Factory and True Blue Winery.
Kissimmee: Comparatively a larger and busier city, Kissimmee has a lot to offer to its visitors especially in its Old Town part where you can still watch and feel the old-world charm sitting along its narrow streets and quaint buildings. There is also the Celebration Town Center, Universal CityWalk® & Kissimmee Main Street.
Orlando: There is plenty to do in this city especially being close to Disneyworld. You can visit the Universal’s Island of Adventure, Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Sea Life Orlando Aquarium, Indoor Kart Racing, Universal Orlando, Wekiva River & its Kayak Tour, Kenndy Space Center, Titanic Artifact Exhibition Dinner Gala and many more.
Sanford: This is also a city where you can stop to enjoy some wonderful holiday experiences like covering 26 miles of the Spring to Spring trail, visit the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center, Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, Tadpole Boat Tour, River of Lakes Heritage Corridor, Goldsboro West Sise Community Historical Association Inc., & Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Café.
Orange City: The city has several attractions like the Blue Spring State Park, Thursby House, Orange City Racing & Card Club, St. Johns River Cruise, NinJoga, Family Fun Town & Kayak Florida and the Nice N easy Oyster Bar and Grille.
DeLand: Explore the West Volusia Tourism Bureau, Skydive DeLand, Mainstream DeLand Association, Blue Spring State Park, City of Lake Helen, Hand Art Center, De Leon Springs State Park, Daytona Beach, Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp, Barberville Pioneer Settlement, Museum of Art DeLand, De la Vega Restaurante and Galeria, The African American Museum of Arts, East Coast Greenway, Florida Black Bear National Scenic Byway, the Stetson Mansion, St. John River Cruises and much more.
